You have the right to receive “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. By law it is mental health providers responsibility to provide clients who don’t have insurance or don’t want to use insurance, an estimate of the expected cost for the treatment they need, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to ask for a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your good faith estimate, you can question the amount on your bill.
